Helping students and families build confidence, independence, and success
Welcome to Katie Speetzen Family Consulting
Support that sticks. Coaching that clicks. For the whole family!
Executive functioning challenges don’t just affect students—they impact the entire family. That’s why my coaching approach focuses on the family system as a whole, ensuring that everyone benefits from stronger organization, communication, and routines.
As a concierge executive functioning coach and seasoned educator, I support families with high-touch, personalized guidance designed to improve organization, routines, and communication. My work includes one-on-one coaching for students, as well as direct support for parents, because lasting change happens when the entire system is on board.
Whether it’s a forgotten science project, a chaotic morning routine, or the constant back-and-forth of “Did you actually turn it in?”—executive functioning challenges can wear down even the most resilient families. I help you build systems that work in real life, not just on paper.
Through family-centered coaching and 1:1 student sessions, I offer:
✅ Personalized strategies to improve time management, planning, and follow-through
✅ Tools to build consistent routines and expectations at home
✅ Parent coaching to encourage independence (and dial down the reminders)
✅ A collaborative, practical approach that reduces stress and boosts family harmony
When executive functioning improves, everyone benefits. Let’s work together to create a calmer, more connected, and more confident home life—tailored to your family’s unique rhythm.
How We Work Together
Let’s Start with a 15-Minute Discovery Call
Before we dive in, I want to understand your family’s strengths and support needs. That’s why I offer a 15-minute discovery call—a no-pressure conversation to determine the best support strategy for your family and see if we’re a good fit.
It all begins with our relationship. I love working with the whole family because your kids are an important part of the process. What brings them joy? What do they struggle with? Do they wish their siblings would finally help with the dishes instead of hiding in the bathroom after dinner? (My brother never did this. Okay, maybe he did.)
And how are you doing—really? When was the last time someone asked? How can I support you?
Just a heads-up: I wish I were Mary Poppins, but sadly, no flying umbrella here. Executive functioning systems are a family affair—I can guide, but only you can lead.
Let’s chat! Book your free 15-minute discovery call today.

The Speetzen Family Story
Hi, I’m Katie! I am a National Board Certified Teacher with a Bachelor’s in History from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Education from DePaul University and over 15 years of experience in education, coaching, and public speaking. I specialize in executive functioning and confidence coaching for students and their families, helping students build organization, time management, and self-advocacy skills.
With a background in stand-up comedy and motivational speaking, I incorporate humor and storytelling into my work, making learning engaging and accessible. My mission is to help students and families build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Most importantly, I’m a proud mom of two daughters who love to tutor others, dance, play the drums, participate in drama, play hockey, and dive into epic Dungeons & Dragons adventures. My husband also plays hockey (if we don’t keep up with our family systems, we trip over a lot of gear). When I have time, I love reading horror novels (why not?!), rocking out to the 90s alternative, attempting to work out (ha!), and spending time with our diva dog, Zelda.

Once my child began working with a therapist to address his ADHD, I felt like I was drowning in a flood of suggested coping strategies, techniques, and information. Coupled with the stress of just getting out the door every day, I didn't feel like we were making much headway. Katie set us up with a positive outlook and a strategies to make the day work. She helps me to connect the strategies coming from the therapist with real actions I can take with my family. I'm looking forward to Katie making more room in our routines, so we can find a way forward that works.

As a mom of twins, I know what it’s like to face the unique challenges of executive functioning needs, even within the same family. Katie took a lot of time to get to know and fully understand the needs of my girls individually. She created a plan that was not only effective for each of them, but also fit together as a whole. Her kindness and sense of humor brought levity to something that often feels overwhelming. I’ve even incorporated a few helpful strategies myself, and I couldn’t recommend Katie more!
